Pastor Clarence E. Hines received his call to the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach in February 2006 and ordained in April 2012. Pastor Hines was born in St. Louis Mo and is a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School.
Pastor Hines attended Meramec Community College and Central Texas College before enlisting in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1991 and joined the ranks of the St. Louis Metro Police Department that same year. During his tenure on the police department, Pastor Hines served in many high profile units including the Intelligence Division, Narcotics Division, Violent Crime Task Force and Police Academy. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2009 and retired in 2012 after serving the citizens of St. Louis for 21 years. Over the course of his career, he was awarded 12 letters of commendation for outstanding service in law enforcement .
Pastor Hines is a graduate of National Louis University where he holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Behavioral Science. He is also a graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary and holds a Masters Degree in Theological Studies.
Pastor Hines continues to serve the citizens of St. Louis as a Volunteer Police Chaplain. He also writes a monthly faith based column in a local police newsletter to encourage officers.
Pastor Hines is the author of the book “Faith Behind The Blue Wall.” (Outskirts Press, 2014). The book was written to help officers to see and engage law enforcement from God’s perspective.
Pastor Hines is a state certified teacher and also serves the community as a Criminal Justice Instructor at North Technical High School, Florissant, Mo.
Pastor Hines has been married to the beautiful Julia Hines for nearly 21 years. They have two children Clarence Jr., age 22 and Jessica age 14.
